ECX Outburst 1/14 Scale Motorcycle unboxing

The ECX Outburst 1/14 Scale Motorcycle has been recently released through Horizon Hobby. We just preordered one and created a unboxing. It looks really nice and it’s available in two colors.
Blue/white and red/black. You get everything you need to run it. A small 120mAh 1 cell LiPo with a 15c burst rate is already inside the bike. There’s only a charging cable included so just take the charger from your smartphone or plug the usb charging cable into your computer or notebook.

It comes with a small 2.4 GHZ transmitter which lies very nice in the hands. The gas trigger feels good and the steering wheel has a nice resistance. To open the battery cover you need to remove one screw.

The ECX Outburst looks really nice for its price. It has working headlight and taillight LED indicators, a scale driver, brake discs at the front and rear, side balancing turning arms. The tires feel very sticky with its rubber compound. On the right side you can find the on/off switch (very small and fiddly) as well as the socket for the battery charger. The ecx outburst has a Gyro stabilization which is a little bit noisy. The bike has a nice looking and working rear and front suspension. The suspension of the ECX Outburst could be a little bit more softer.

There’s one weird thing we noticed. Usually you need to power the transmitter first and then the ECX Outburst. Well the transmitter is blinking for 4 seconds and if you do not power on the bike within the short timeframe it won’t bind. So switching on the bike fist and then the transmitter worked better for us. Just be sure that the bike doesn’t start to drive away 🙂
